Axalta Cromax Color Search

Axalta Color Tools are a user-friendly solution for paint shops in the automotive industry, providing the painter with an end-to-end platform that supports all their activities, from color selection to execution.  The software handles multiple processes within the paint shop, such as formula search, color weighing and mixing, spectrometer measurement integration, task scheduler, customer management, quotation creator, stock and price manager, technical and safety sheet finder, to name a few. It runs in over 10 brands, over 50 languages, and is used all over the world.

Color Search handles the pre-mixing part of the paint shop process, where the user can find a color using multiple parameters, retrieve variants of that color, and compare variants to choose the best one.

Solution:
Information design focuses on showing as much data as possible in a grid where it can be easily compared. The data is ranked by importance, allowing the lesser important items to be hidden as the screen size decreases. A “details panel” shows all data for an item at any time. The search pages are designed to be flexible enough to handle added columns or actions in the future. They are also fully responsive and touchscreen-friendly.

Impact:
A seamless user experience that is now available on platform level across native and cloud-based devices, while the Color Search is easy to use, flexible, informative, and actionable.
